Wooga Scores Another $24 Million

European social gaming company Wooga has secured an additional $24 Million in funding for further expansion in Europe and the Americas. Articles and analysis from:

TechCrunch ” Wooga was founded in 2009, starting out with just five employees and growing to 85 people today. The company has ambitions of hiring two more employees every week going forward, to reach 150 employees in total by the end of this year. “

Is Wooga the Zynga of Europe?

The Wall Street Journal has an interesting article about the rise of Germany based social games developer Wooga, and their strong position in Europe. From the article:

” Jens Begemann, Wooga’s 34-year-old founder and chief executive, also attributes his firm’s success to its international focus. Region-specific teams inside Wooga translate games into seven languages, including Italian, French, Portuguese and Turkish, and tailor virtual items for sale to each market. The result is a user base that is majority European. “

Wooga wants to be Number 2
