A Social Game is…

GamesBrief has an excellent article where leaders in the social gaming industry are asked the question, “What is a Social Game?”  Here’s one of the definitions of social games from the article:

” Key elements to these games are: progression within a community “Keeping up with the Jones’s”, micro-transactions, trading, competition without great punishment for failure and collection driven game dynamics. These games are often designed to appeal across sexes and age groups, the result of which is simple interface design and slower paced gameplay with very little (if any) time pressure. ”
